Sneachd!/ Snow

Image
Chan eil na dealbhan idir a' sealltainn cho cumhachdach, breaghaagus fuar 's a bha an aimsir ann an Lios Mòr an-diugh.  Ged a bha e fuar, cha robh mi a' gearain idir a bhith a' coiseachd suas à Port a' Chaisteil an-deidh dhomh a bhith ag obair - bha e mìorbhailteach agus bha mi cho sùnndach a bhith a-mach air latha mar seo.
The pictures don't do justice to the power, beauty and coldness of the weather in Lismore today.  Although it was cold, I wasn't complaining at all at walking up the hill from Port Castle after work - it was wonderful and exhilarating to be outside on a day like this.

Feasgar trang/ A busy afternoon

Image
Abair gun robh sinne trang feasgar an-diugh - bha obair-dachaigh aig na balaich!  Leughadh, sgrìobhadh, cunntadh...is a' tarraing à Mamaidh, gus am biodh i a' dol cràite!  Saoil an robh leannabh ann a-riamh nach robh a' cur a phàrantan às an rian le a bhith a' leughadh rudeigin mar seo:  "h-a-d, h-a-d, h-a-d... tha sin ag ràdh... Kipper!" Is an uair sin, dìreach nuair a tha na pàrantan bochd a' toiseachadh air rànail, tha an creutair beag mì-mhodhail a' leughadh an leabhair bhon toiseach dhan deireadh, uile gu lèir gun mhearachd sam bith!  Càit' a bheil am fìon?!

Weren't we busy this afternoon - the boys had homework!  Reading, writing, counting...and teasing Mummy till she goes mad!  I wonder if there was ever a child who didn't drive its parents senseless by reading something like this:  "h-a-d, h-a-d, h-a-d... that says... Kipper!" And then, just when the poor parents are starting to cry, the cheeky wee creature reads the whole…

Leabaidh #2/ Bed #2

Image
Airson an fhirinn innse, thachair seo an-dè ach, leis an aimsir a bh' againn an-diugh, cha do thachair dad sam bith a bha inntinneach, 's mar sin, tha sgeulachd na leapa ann a-rithist!

To be honest, all this happened yesterday, but with the weather we had today, nothing at all interesting happened, so it's the story of the bed again!

Bha tòrr obrach aig Dadaidh, ach bha dithis ann a bha daonnan ga "chuideachadh" - b' esan a bha toilichte!
Daddy had a lot of work to do, but he had a couple of willing "helpers" - he was so pleased!

An-dèidh beagan ùine, bha barrachd adhartas ri fhaicinn...
After a little while, there was some more progress to be seen...

Mu dheireadh thall, cha mhòr nach robh i deas...is bha an luchd-obrach gu math, math toilichte!

At long last, it was almost ready...and the workers were pretty pleased!

'S e leabaidh "Wayfair" a tha seo, agus tha sinn uile dhen bheachd gun e fìor dheagh leabaidh a th' innte - tha i fada n…

Leabaidh ùr/ a new bed

Image
Shaoileadh tu gum b’ e Nollaig a bh’ ann a-rithist - fhuair na balaich leabaidh ùr!  Bha iad air a bhith a' feitheamh air a son fad barrachd is seachdain is cha robh iad foghaideanach idir, idir, idir!  Co-dhiù, bha an seòmar a-nis falamh agus dh'fhaodadh Dadaidh leabaidh a thogail.   You would think it was Christmas again - the boys got a new bed! They'd been waiting for more than a week and they weren't at all patient!  Anyway, the room was now empty and Daddy could build a bed!

Soraidh slàn aig seann charaid / farewell to an old friend

B’ e seo an latha a dh’fhàg sinn uile soraidh slàn mu dheireadh aig co-ogha m’ athair, Raibeart MacGillebhrath.  Bha e 86 bliadhna dh'aois agus shiubhail e air latha na bliadhn' ùire.  Ged a bha sinn uile brònach, b' e latha snog a bh' ann cuideachd, ann an dòigh, 's an teaghlach gu lèir cruinn còmhla.  Bha Raibeart air a bhith air a dhòigh, nam b' urrainn dhasan a bhith ann!

Today we bid a final farewell to one of Dad's cousin, Robert MacGillivray.  He was 86 and died on New Year's Day - just after the Bell, in fact.  Although we were all sad, it was a lovely day too, in a way, with the whole family together.  Robert would have loved it if he could have been there!

Latha breagha is trang/ A beautiful and busy day

B' e latha gu math, math breagha a bh' ann an-diugh, ach cho fuar ris a' phuinnsein!  Chaidh Cailean a-mach trath sa mhadainn gus gainnmheach a chur air na rathaidean, gus am biodh iad sàbhailte dha na càraichean.  Abair ceuman a tha e a' faotainn air am Fitbit aige le gnothaichean mar sin - feumaidh mise rudeigin a dhèanamh a dh'aithghearr, gus nach bi e daonnan a' dèanamh a' chùis orm!
Bha seallaidhean air leth ri fhaicinn air an rathad sìos gu Port a' Chaisteal.  B' e "an t-eilean àlainn" a bh' ann an Lios Mòr an-diugh dha-rìribh.
Feasgar, chaidh mi gu coinneamh Ùghdarras Coimhearsnachd Lios Mòr - tha sinn uile an dòchas gum bi rudan ùra is inntinneach a' tachairt san eilean san àm ri teachd.

Rudeigin Eadar-dhealaichte/ Something Different

Image
Uill, cha do rinn sinn dad a bha cho eadar-dhealaichte sin, ach cha b' e dìreach obair is Etsy a bh' ann an-diugh.  Thàinig Cailean is na coin sìos gu Port a' Chaisteil gam choineachadh an-dèidh dhomh a bhith ag obair is choisich sinn suas a' chnuic còmhla.  Bha Collach is Liosach gu math toilichte, ged a bha iad airson a bhith a' ruith tro na h-achaidhean leotha fhèin.
Well, we didn't do anything that different, it just wasn't all work and Etsy today.  Colin and the dogs came down to meet me after work at Port Castle and we all walked back up the hill together.  The dogs had great fun, although they would have preferred to be running loose through the fields!

Feumaidh mi aideachadh gun do rinn mi barrachd air Etsy cuideachd, feasgar an-diugh, ged-tà!
I have to admit I did do more on Etsy this afternoon though!
